The idea of front yard libraries have picked up in recent years. In order to get people reading and spread books around town, some people have put up tiny bookshelves in their yards where any passers-by can stop in and borrow a book. You can feel free to drop by and leave a book for others to check out as well.
This idea is what inspired Roman Espinoza to create another unique way to help out the locals. Roman wanted to do something a bit different with the yard library idea. His interest was more focused on helping those who were less fortunate. There are people all over the world in need of basic necessities like food, and Roman knew some of those people lived in his home town.
Rather than stand back and let others figure out solutions, Roman took the yard library idea and tweaked it to provide help. In Roman's yard, you can find a Blessing Box. This box is filled with all sorts of items to help those suffering from hunger. You can dig through the collection to find canned goods and other food to help make things a bit easier.
These free meals Roman is offering can make the difference for someone who has no idea where their next meal is coming from. As with the lawn libraries, other people in the community can drop by and donate food whenever they want. You'll find more than food in Roman's Blessing Box. You can grab items like toothpaste and toothbrushes to help give personal hygiene a boost.
So far, the idea has been a major success. Now other people in town are asking Roman if they can set up similar boxes in their own front yards! Looks like Roman's little idea to help has now turned into a big push to better the lives of the less fortunate.
